Research shows most expired naloxone retains more than 90% of its original potency with no harmful breakdown. Studies have found naloxone for injection that had been expired for 30+ years still maintained substantial effectiveness. Several states now explicitly protect people who use expired naloxone in a good-faith overdose response.

While we always recommend having unexpired naloxone on hand, you should never hesitate to use expired naloxone if it's the only option available. We redistribute expired naloxone to grassroots organizations where it continues to save lives.

Bring your package to a UPS shipping location. You will receive confirmation when your package arrives safely to our offices.
